OFFICIAL SWINSON WEBSITE

Hello and welcome.  This website is dedicated to the late Caspar Dorman Swinson, better known as "Million Mile" Swinson.  Mr. Swinson was an aviator who started out barnstorming in Michigan and ended up being Senior Pilot for the Eastern division of Pan American Airways in the early 1940s.  He trained pilots during WWl.

One story is that when training pilots in WWI, Swinson said they had 45 minutes to learn to fly.  So he would put the plane in a climbing stall.   When the ship stalled and started to nose dive, he would  say, "now, you take the wheel".  If they froze, they flunked. If they took the wheel and did anything, he would continue training.

Many more stories like these will be documented as well as photos from Mr. Swinson's scrapbook along with relics of his aviation career.  We will follow Mr. Swinson, also known as "Cap" through his incredible life journeys so sit back and experience a piece of monumental history.

Enjoy.
